Wells Formula D’s Mechanic of the Year for 3rd Straight Year
A broken wrist won’t stop a top mechanic: Despite the cast on his left arm, Kevin Wells supported Chris Forsberg at Formula D’s final race of the year, held October 13 in Irwindale, California. Wells, who has kept the driver’s Nissan 350Zs in top shape throughout the series, was named Formula D Mechanic of the Year for the third straight season. The award was presented at a banquet held October 14.
“It’s pretty cool. It was unexpected. I’ve won it the past two years, but I didn’t expect to get it this year. It didn’t seem possible to get it three years in a row,” Wells told Maxxis. The owner of LS Auto, Wells has worked in drift car support for three years, and has high praise for the MA-Z1 Drift model: “I would say they’re definitely the best tire I’ve ever worked with.”
Maxxis congratulates Formula D’s Mechanic of the Year, Kevin Wells.
