Maxxis Supermaxx, Presa Sport Excel in Group Test
Maxxis Presa Sport

The popular Maxxis Supermaxx and Presa Sport, ZR-rated sport motorcycle tires, proved their quality at group tests held recently in the United Kingdom. The tests were conducted at the Silverstone Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.

Using a race specification Suzuki GSXR1000 (2007 model), an instructor from the California Superbike School put the Supermaxx and Presa Sport through their paces. In good weather conditions, the driver completed 100 miles at race speeds.

“Silverstone is a fast, flat racetrack where cornering speeds can reach up to 140mph and 170–180 mph is the norm on the quickest straights,” said Maxxis International UK managing director Derek McMartin.

The tester reported that the Supermaxx had performed well above his expectations and was comparable to leading competitors’ models, while he considered it unlikely that the average rider could exceed the tire’s capabilities in typical street use.

Also impressed by the Presa Sport, which he called “bloody awesome,” the tester noted that the tire’s performance was comparable to that of other leading track tires used for racing.
