Maxxis Wins 24-Hour Race
A grueling motorcycle race lasting an entire 24 hours: Just the kind of challenge that a rider on Maxxis loves. Sponsored by Maxxis, the crew from KTM S.E./Cycle Specialty roared across the finish line in 24.00.06 hours, a full two laps ahead of the next team. The KTM/Perry Mountain 24 Hour Challenge was held June 2-3 in Maplesville, Alabama.
KTM S.E./Cycle Specialty took the lead in the fifth of their 42 laps and held it for the rest of the race, and rider Allen Gravitt said the team’s Maxxcross SI tires performed well in incredibly dusty conditions. “The tires worked really good. The terrain was extreme dust with silt ruts and some hard-packed dirt and a little sand. When we got in the lead, we stuck to our game plan and just kept putting in consistent laps. Once we got a good lead built up, we just tried to take care of the bike, and we made sure when we pitted that we took our time and got everything right,” Gravitt said.
Maxxis congratulates Allen Gravitt, Michael Grizzle, Jason Chancey, Dustin Gibson, Russell Bobbitt and Robbie Jenks, the riders of KTM S.E./Cycle Specialty, on their victory.
