Maxxis Dominates ATV Series
Maxxis continues to dominate the season’s major ATV series. A few of the highlights from riders on Razrs:
- Bill Ballance took a second straight win with his victory at the Snowshoe GNCC ATV race, consolidating his lead for the overall title. Maxxis swept the podium at the event, with Chris Borich in second place and Matt Smiley taking third. The first-ever Snowshoe GNCC ATV was held June 23 in Snowshoe, West Virginia.
- Maxxis also gained its 21st straight Holeshot Award when Borich took the lead at the start of the race. Chris Jenks took seventh place, and Brandon Sommers, who scored an overall top ten finish with ninth place, took
his seventh Pro Am victory of the season.
- Two weeks earlier, Ballance won the GNCC Weekend Warrior, taking a narrow lead over Borich in the race for the title. The contest was held June 9-10 in Sparta, Kentucky. Other riders on Razrs also did well, with Maxxis taking five of the top seven spots overall: Jenks nabbed fourth place, while Smiley, Borich, and Taylor Kiser captured fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively. Rookie Duane Johnson turned in another top ten performance with a ninth place finish. Though he ran into problems in the third lap, Brandon Ballance, younger brother of Bill, gave a great performance early in the race. Brandon took Maxxis’ 20th straight GNCC pro holeshot.
- Maxxis riders took top spots in both premier classes at WPSA’s Round 3 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In his first race aboard the new Razr Cross, designed for loamy conditions, Dustin Wimmer won the SuperQuad Pro 450 class. Borich bested the competition in the QuadTerrain Pro Stock final, riding the championship-proven Bighorn Radial. The event was held June 2-3.
