Dietrich Wins WORCS Series
Maxxis’ Ricky Dietrich has won the 2006 WORCS championship, taking the title with a hotly contested victory in the Mesquite MX Park. The last race of the 12-round series was held November 3 in Mesquite, Nevada.

Dietrich, who finished in 2:05:43, battled almost to the finish line with the second place rider, as he told cyclenews.com: “Getting down and dirty, and running through my mind how bad I want this [made the difference]. I rode with a lot of heart today, and this was the hardest race all year. I mean, me and Bobby were fighting like it was a motocross race out there, going wide-open the whole time. Man, I started cramping up at the end and stuff, but I just kept going." Dietrich also took race victories earlier in the series, at the Washougal MX Park in June and the Burnt Ridge MX in August.

Depending on conditions, Dietrich rides the MaxxCross Desert IT or MaxxCross SI, and he praised their performance and durability earlier in the season. “They’re just really good tires, and they’re excellent for practicing because they’re tough and durable. The races I do, they’re two hours long, and [the tires] are still in great shape at the end of two hours. I like to comment on the podium about how I’ll run my race tire in practice next week because it’s still good,” he said.

Maxxis congratulates Ricky Dietrich and thanks him for proving again that champions ride Maxxis.
