They can’t be stopped: Maxxis’ off-road teams overcame every obstacle in their path to take huge victories in September.
Just six weeks after clinching the W.E.ROCK championship, driver Danny Rohrer and spotter Chad Rolfert won the modified class championship in the UROC East series. The two sealed their title at the UROC Pro Nationals in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, held September 30 – October 1. Driver Dan Patterson and spotter Bob Roggy won the stock class at the W.E.ROCK Grand National Championship, held September 22-24 in Boyd, Texas.
Roggy says that he and Patterson were pleased with their 35” Creepy Crawlers: “They were excellent. There were no problems whatsoever – they always work excellent.” He added that the team was more focused at this event than they’ve been all season. Winning “was a huge relief, because there was a lot of pressure because we had won last year.”
For off-road racer Robert Naughton, the 2006 season just keeps getting better: the Maxxis-sponsored driver won the Pro Lite class at CORR’s Nissan Off-Road Nationals. The race was held September 23-24 in Chula Vista, California.
The victory was Naughton’s first as a professional. “We spent a lot of time fine-tuning the truck for this race, and I got the biggest holeshot I’ve ever had,” he commented. “Even on the podium, I said that the Maxxis tires hooked up so well that I was three truck-lengths ahead of everybody else.” Naughton’s Bighorns also took him to the podium earlier in the month, when he took two second place spots at CORR races in Crandon, Wisconsin.
Maxxis congratulates these outstanding drivers and spotters on their victories.
