Maxxis Roars into NOPI Nationals
With wildly popular drifting demos, the Maxxis support rig on display, and great swag for fans, Maxxis was the brand to watch at the NOPI Nationals Motorsports Supershow. Held September 16-17 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the event drew crowds estimated at more than 100,000, along with extensive TV coverage from cable’s SPEED Channel.

Thousand of fans watched in awe during eight shows from Batlground Engineering, the Maxxis-sponsored drifting team. Drivers Daniel Willie and Tracy Shayhorn performed tandem runs, rodeo drifts, drift windmills and the heart-stopping double rodeo – a trick which involves drifting while sitting on the car door with the driver’s head, torso and left leg outside the vehicle.

Willie and Shayhorn weren’t the only Maxxis-sponsored drivers to dazzle the crowds: Rock crawler Drew Goldie and Maxxis Support Manager Creighton King stole the burnout competition on their 37” Trepadors and 40” Creepy Crawlers. The billowing smoke generated by Goldie and King also drew the attention of SPEED’s TunerVision camera.

Fans visited the Maxxis booth and support rig in droves, taking away great Maxxis giveaway items.
