Maxxis Adding Hot New Sizes to Bighorn Line
The Maxxis Bighorn is getting a reputation for taking off-road racers to the podium in top series, including SCORE and CORR. Responding to the extreme popularity of this model, Maxxis is expanding the line to include some hot new sizes: LT285/75R18 Load Range “E”; LT245/70R17 Load Range “D” OWL; LT285/70R17 Load Range “D” OWL; and LT275/70R18 Load Range “E,” which has a load index of 125.

The entire Bighorn line is pinned for studs – a must-have feature in areas where extra bite in ice and snow is needed - and the LT285/75R18 size is original equipment on both the 2006 and 2007 models of the Ford F-350 4x4.

With staggered shoulder lugs, the Bighorn is designed to handle even the toughest off-road conditions, with unparalleled durability on rugged terrain. Top racer Chris Kaiko points out that his recent CORR victory came on a set of Bighorns that he had run for four races: “It just goes to show you the reliability of the tires. Some people are changing tires every race.” Robert Naughton agrees, noting “In competition, they hold up really well to the abuse and offer excellent traction, enabling us to run up-front.”

Maxxis Automotive/Light Truck Sales Manager Doug Addis is not surprised by the praise: “We are really proud of the success of the Bighorn. In a short time, it has become one of our most popular light truck tires. We are also pleased that Maxxis can offer these new sizes to our customers. I think this should show our dedication to this market, and it’s an example of Maxxis being responsive to our customer’s needs.”
