Wade and Napolitan Take Medals at X Games 12; Mirra Injured
When you’re competing in the biggest BMX event of the season, it pays to ride Maxxis: Morgan Wade and Anthony Napolitan each took medals at X Games 12, held August 3-6 in Los Angeles, California.

Riding the Holy Roller and M-Tread models, Wade won the silver in BMX Freestyle Park. “The two pocket airs were the strength of my run," he told expn.com after the event. "This course was so fun. These are mumbo-jumbo ramps."

In the dirt jump contest, Napolitan took a bronze medal with a three double whip and a tire grab to no-handed front flip. He was elated after the event, as he told expn.com: "X Games is the biggest action sports contest of the year. It's the event everyone recognizes. This is amazing. I feel great." Chris Doyle of Team DK also did well in the dirt jump with a fourth place finish.

Nate Adams turned in a terrific performance in moto best trick, ending close to a tie for the bronze.

The games didn’t go as well for every Maxxis rider, unfortunately. BMX legend Dave Mirra was seriously injured in practice August 2 and was unable to compete. Mirra is the most decorated rider in the history of the X Games, with 14 gold medals and 20 medals overall. “Dave Mirra is a true champion, and we send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery” said Jeana Norman, bicycle sponsorship coordinator for Maxxis.

Maxxis congratulates Morgan Wade, Anthony Napolitan, Nate Adams, and Chris Doyle on their outstanding performances.
