When you have four of the top five in a sport, you know you’re doing something right. And that’s certainly the case with Maxxis and the GNCC: As the series moves into its summer break, Maxxis dominates the overall top five and has swept the top three.
Longtime champ Bill Ballance leads the pack with 226 points. Taking his first win of the season at the Maxxis General in March, he nabbed his second victory at Loretta Lynn’s, and went into the summer break with wins at the Tire Balls Spartan and the Parts Unlimited Wisp, both in June. In a season of intense competition – much of it from the other half of the “Killer B’s,” Chris Borich – Ballance is prevailing.
Borich has also made a big splash this season, decisively winning the season opener, the Orange Crush. He and Ballance later gave fans their money’s worth at Steele Creek, when Borich beat Ballance to the finish line by inches. He currently ranks second overall with 210 points.
Chris Jenks, in third place overall with 166 points, took his first victory of the season at the Showtime! race in Misssouri. Jenks battled through some of the muddiest conditions so far this year at Showtime!, winning on a course that gnccracing.com said was “littered with mud, rocks and hills, making it one of the toughest GNCC tracks in some time.” And Jenks pulled off two wins in a row with his first place finish at the next race, the Wiseco John Penton.
Ranked fifth overall at the summer break, Duane Johnson has amazed fans in his rookie year as a pro. The Missouri native has racked up 142 points so far this season.
Also riding Maxxis to the top ten are Brandon Ballance, in ninth place, and Bryan Baker, in tenth.
Riding Maxxis’ Razr, iRazr, and Razr2, these winning riders know they can count on outstanding traction, steering, cornering, and puncture resistance.
The GNCC ATV season resumes in September with the Yadkin Valley Stomp. As the competition heats up again, be sure to check out maxxis.com and gnccracing.com to get the latest on all the action!
