Maxxis’ MA-Z1 Victra was rated best in braking in comparison tests by Street Commodores, an Australian motoring magazine. In its May issue, the publication rated seven tires in seven categories, and praised the Maxxis ultra high performance radial: “The Maxxis was a great all-round performer…they performed particularly well in the stopping distance test, suggesting that their sustainable braking Gs were quite good.”
The MA-Z1 also did well when tested in other categories, ranking second in minimum lap speed and maximum lap speed, and third in lap times, maximum acceleration Gs, and maximum braking Gs. “They seemed to be a harder compound than the others, and they seemed to stand up pretty well considering the (hot) conditions we have today [for the test],” commented test driver Jason Richards, a pro racer with Australia’s Tasman Motorsport team.
Other brands tested by Street Commodores included Dunlop, Goodyear, Toyo, Marangoni, Nankang, and Federal.
The Street Commodores test isn’t the first high ranking this year for the MA-Z1: Australia’s Wheels magazine rated the model best in wet braking and third overall in its annual tire test issue, also published in May.
That the MA-Z1 achieves consistently outstanding test results is no surprise: With its aggressive unidirectional tread design and advanced silica compound, this model provides excellent traction in both wet and dry conditions, along with superb cornering and handling, swift response, and minimum noise levels at high speeds.
Maxxis thanks Street Commodores for this recognition, and again expresses its gratitude to the team of Maxxis employees responsible for this fine product.
