As MDR Season Wraps Up, Winners Ride Maxxis
Off-road racing in the California desert is always a challenge, but some drivers enjoy a distinct advantage: As the 2005 MDR series ended, racers who chose Maxxis Bighorns found themselves in some of the top spots in the overall standings.

The champions of four classes rode Maxxis’ products throughout the season: Matt Towery, Class 8; Dave Wood, Class 10; Terry Ingold, Class 1300; and Frank Vernola, Class 1450. Also choosing Maxxis were Giti Gowland, who took second place in Class 3; “Rockit” Raul Flores of Championship Motorsports, sponsored by Maxxis, who took third place in Class 8; Belden Alivio, who scored the fourth place spot in Class 1450 and ninth in the overall results; and Bill Nissley, who finished fourth in Class 3. Overall, Terry Ingold took second place - and the Milestone Award for completing every mile of every race. Frank Vernola took third place overall.

Maxxis offered contingency programs for all races in the 2005 MDR series. The 2006 MDR season begins in early February.
