Maxxis-Sponsored Championship Motorsports 4th in Baja 1000
Racing 30 hours straight on one set of Maxxis tires, Championship Motorsports took fourth place in the 2005 SCORE Baja 1000. Sponsored by Maxxis, drivers “Rockit” Raul Flores and Tim Casey, along with co-drivers Phillip Espinoza and Brian Fuller, braved the grueling 708-mile loop course which began and ended in Ensenada, Mexico. The race was held November 18-19.

With an impressive total time of 29:12:10, the team is also proud just to have finished the demanding contest, according to marketing director Karlinda Flores. Flores added that the durability of Maxxis’ products saved precious time when it counted most, because the team could skip planned tire changes to focus on retaining its position.

Racing in Class 7, Championship Motorsports finished the SCORE season in fifth place overall. The team also did well in the MDR Championship series, finishing third overall in Class 8.

Considered indispensable by many off-road racers, Maxxis’ Bighorns and Buckshot Mudders were used extensively throughout the 2005 season.
