Champions in a wide range of sports have always known that they can count on Maxxis – and now the company is ramping up its presence in the exciting world of off-road racing. The CORR series is the latest to benefit from Maxxis’ support, with a contingency program announced in May.
Maxxis is offering a contingency for the Pro-Lite class of the Championship Off Road Racing series: $1000 for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third. With extensive coverage on cable television’s Speed Channel, CORR is followed by fans all over the country. Begun in May, the series will run through October with races in California, Kansas, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
And Maxxis’ involvement with CORR isn’t limited to cash prizes: the company is sponsoring Championship Motorsports’ Randy Eller, a driver with more than two decades of off-road racing to his credit. Eller rides Maxxis’ 753’s and Bighorns on a Pro Lite Chevy S10, and at press time was fifth in overall point standings for the series.
He was glad to be riding Maxxis during the second race of the series opener, when thick mud challenged even the best riders. “I got pushed to that outside edge into a huge mud puddle, and the tires dug right through and pulled me out. Getting stuck never even crossed my mind,” he told Maxxis support truck driver Creighton King.
