Maxxis is a strong supporter of off-road racing – and its contribution hasn’t gone unnoticed. For the fourth year in a row, the company has been named Sponsor of the Year for the Grand National Cross Country Series, Racer Productions announced at its annual banquet November 27. The yearly award is the result of a vote by GNCC riders. According to Racer Productions, Maxxis won for 2004 by a large margin.
Maxxis’ sponsored riders were also recognized at the ceremony. Longtime champion Bill Ballance was named 2004 Rider of the Year, and Bryan Cook was pegged as 2004’s Most Improved Rider. Cook cut his national number from 12 to 6 and took his first career overall win in 2004, according to gnccracing.com.
The 14-round GNCC series concluded in October, with Bill Ballance winning the Pro ATV class. The 2005 season will begin February 12 and 13 with the Lone Star race in Gilmer, Texas.
Maxxis is honored by this recognition and thanks the GNCC riders and Racer Productions for an exciting season.
