Thanks to Sun and Welcome SunWIT !
Our continued thanks go to Sun Microsystems who will host another season of MassWIT’s monthly meeting events on the Burlington campus. Sun is a strong advocate for women-focused initiatives for their employee population.  By sponsoring MassWIT, Sun aligns its goals by offering a venue for employees to develop leadership skills and provide new opportunities for personal and professional growth. In this spirit, Sun has organized its own internal women’s affinity group in the Boston area called SunWIT.

“Working with MassWIT over the past year has been a great experience,” said Sandra Belknap, manager of IT marketing and communications and Sun liason for MassWIT. “Since September, Sun women have volunteered more than 200 hours of their personal time to support MassWIT activities, including the March Leadership event.” She adds, “Other Sun locations are looking at the work we’ve done in the Boston area and intend to replicate our efforts in their own communities.”

Suzanne Zellner, Executive Director of MassWIT agrees the relationship between Sun and MassWIT has been a win-win for both organizations. “Sun has been a dream to work with. They have provided us with valuable meeting space, a wealth of dedicated volunteers and unparalleled support.” She added, “We are also thrilled to work with a company so committed to furthering the leadership skills of women in the business community."
