Public Relations Committee Update
Making MassWIT work for you is part publicity

Greetings to all. My name is Juliann Grant, and I am a new member to MassWIT and its PR committee. I attended my first MassWIT meeting this September, and I had such a great experience that I wanted to help MassWIT in some way. Shortly thereafter, I signed on to chair the PR committee … and here I am! I run a small marketing consulting practice under the name Sentrepity Associates (www.sentrepity.com). PR just happens to be one of my favorite marketing activities, and I’m looking forward to helping MassWIT this coming year.

I want to welcome two new volunteers to the PR committee: Sherry Carr and Padmaja Suren. Welcome aboard, ladies! Our team is focused on building visibility and credibility for MassWIT in the eyes of our members, local press and in the high-tech community. With the many networking groups out there, it is our job to position our organization in a way that differentiates us from everyone else. Our activities include promoting our monthly meetings, issuing press releases for news events, and promoting our members in any way we can.

Over the next few months, we will be compiling a calendar of speaking opportunities and editorial opportunities where we can promote MassWIT and our members. If you have ideas or news that you would like to share, please send them along to us. We want to hear from you. Some of the things we are looking for:

  • New meeting sponsors
  • Speaking opportunities that you are scheduled for
  • Books or articles published recently
  • Call for speaker notices at local events and trade shows
  • Any other ideas you may have…

I look forward to a great year with MassWIT. Please send any of your ideas/thoughts to me at jgrant@sentrepity.com, or call 617-909-7414.

Best Regards,
Juliann Grant
PR Committee Chair
