Stuart's U.S. aluminum hot rolling oil business from Houghton International, including the rights to sell the product portfolio internationally. Quaker now becomes a leading player in the U.S. aluminum hot rolling market serving reversing mills, finishing mills, and combination mill systems in the country.

Group II Base Oil Re-refinery to be Built in Brazil
Chemical Engineering Partners announced last week it will build a lube base oil re-refinery for the LWART Group, which will be the largest re-refinery in South America. The LWART Group is regarded as the largest company in South America in the field of collecting and re-refining of used oil. This Brazil facility will produce API Group II base oil.

Chevron Expects 2Q Earnings to Exceed 1Q Earnings
Chevron last week reported in its interim update that earnings for the second quarter 2010 are expected to be higher than in the first quarter. Upstream earnings are projected to be in line with first quarter results. Downstream results, inclusive of the Chemicals business segment, are expected to be significantly higher than the first quarter.

Light sweet crude oil traded in the range of US$75-78 per barrel last week, closing at US$76.38 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange last Friday. Eastern hemisphere lube base oil prices for recent shipments increased slightly with the greatest increases seen in Europe, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
