Lube Re-refining Plant to be Built in Tampa, Florida
NexLube Tampa LLC plans to build a $75 million oil recycling facility at the Port of Tampa. Up to 24 million gallons of used oil per year will be processed at the facility, which is expected to take two years to build. The re-refining plant will be based on the REVIVOIL technology, developed jointly and provided by Axens and Viscolube.

Chemtura to Sell Its Share of Dutch JV to Sonneborn B.V.
Chemtura and Sonneborn have reached an agreement in which Chemtura will sell its 50% stake in a Dutch joint venture to Sonneborn B.V., that will pay Chemtura $5 million and also will relieve it of $14.25 million in environmental and pension liabilities. The deal will allow Chemtura to divest a petroleum-additive business that adds little to its bottom line.

Colas Acquires 6,600 bpd Base Oil Plant in France
Colas, a French road construction company, has announced it has acquired 100% of the share capital in the Société de la Raffinerie de Dunkerque (SRD) from ExxonMobil France Holding SAS and Total Lubrifiants. The plant produces 6,600 bpd lube base oil, in addition to some 300,000 tons of bitumen per year.

In the South East Asia market, base oil prices rose this past week in reaction to the price hikes from ExxonMobil Singapore which took effect on Friday 9th July 2010. The reaction was initially thought as contradicting with all fundamental and technical indicators.
