Valvoline Says No to dexos Licensing
Valvoline plans to introduce an engine oil that meets the dexos1™ specification for gasoline-only vehicles in the fall of this year and says that its current SynPower MST 5W-30 already meets all the requirements of General Motors dexos2™ and it can be used in all GM passenger car gasoline and diesel vehicles. Valvoline though does not plan to purchase a dexos™ license for its motor oils.

SK Lubricants & Repsol to Build Base Oil Plant in Spain
SK Lubricants said last Tuesday that it, along with Repsol, is planning to build a new lube base oil plant in Spain. The plant, to be built at Repsol's Cartagena refinery, will produce 13,300 barrels per day of API Group III lube base oil. The tentative completion date is set for sometime in 2013.
