ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, CITGO and Valvoline Announce Lube Price Increases
Following Shell's announcement a week earlier, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, CITGO and Valvoline all announced finished lube price increases this past week. The increases were in the range of 6% - 10%, with the effective date typically being July 1, 2010. BP/Castrol is the only major lubricant manufacturer that has not yet recently announced lubricant price increases in the US market.

API to Assume 'Motor Oil Matters' Program Leadership from Pennzoil-Quaker State
The American Petroleum Institute earlier this month announced it will assume the leadership role in Motor Oil Matters from Pennzoil-Quaker State, with the goal of expanding this successful industry and consumer initiative. Asia Pacific Base Oil Market Stalls
Base oil prices across the Asia Pacific market were largely unchanged from the previous week, activities were sporadic and limited in thin trading. Buyers were seen reluctant to be in open positions and decided to stay on the sidelines. With the traditional base oil off-peak buying season approaching and PetroChina’s and Sinopec’s refineries resuming operations in June, base oil supply should exceed demand and put pressure on prices.
