Latest GM DexronŽ-VI Approved Fluids List

Back in 2007, General Motors began publishing a list of approved suppliers and oils, including respective license numbers on its Web site for its DEXRONŽ-VI automatic transmission fluid, in an effort to make it easier for prospective customers to know which companies have official licenses. GM has since added many additional suppliers and oils to this list.

Shell's Swedish Downstream Business Being Sold

Reuters is reporting that Royal Dutch Shell plans to sell its Swedish business, which includes a refinery in Gothenburg, a marketing arm, and its network of more than 400 gas stations for around $750 million . The report said that Shell has appointed investment bank Lazard to sell its Swedish unit.

Caltex Australia to Close Its Lube Base Oil Plant at Kurnell in Sydney

Caltex Australia has announced it will close its 3,500 bpd lube oil refinery at Kurnell in Sydney, although no date has been set for the closure. The API Group I plant has been in operation since 1963, According to Caltex Australia, "CLOR (Caltex Lubricating Oil Refinery Ltd) is not viable going forward due to the fact that the plant manufactures outmoded lubricant products and faces declining feedstock sources."

Pilot Chemical Company Announces January 1, 2010 Price Increase

Pilot Chemical Company last week announced a price increase on list and off-list, effective January 1, 2010 or as contracts allow for their Aristonate, Aristonic, CalBlend, Calfoam, Calimulse, and Calsoft branded products. According to Pilot Chemical this pricing adjustment is a direct result of increasing raw material costs.
