Chevron Withdraws From Eastern U.S. Retail Marketing; Pascagoula and Yeosu Base Oil Plans Progress
As part of its strategy to leave markets where it is not competitive, Chevron announced it will withdraw its brand from about 1,100 independently-owned and operated retail stations in Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and parts of Tennessee. The company will maintain its lubricants operations in the eastern U.S. and its Pascagoula refinery.

Total Acquires Ultramar’s Lubricant Business
Total Lubricants Canada and Ultramar Ltd. announced last Monday that Total has acquired Ultramar’s lubricants business and that the two companies have signed a partnership under which Total branded lubricants will be sold throughout the Ultramar Network. Total operates a blending plant in Montreal with a capacity of 35,000 tons, which was built in 2000.

Shell Transfers Nordic Lube Marketing To Univar
Univar, a global leader in chemical distribution, announced lat Monday that it has signed a new long term distribution agreement with affiliates of the Shell Group in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to market, sell and distribute Shell branded lubricants in these four countries. Eastern Hemisphere Lube Base Oil Price Report
Crude oil prices closed below the US$70 per barrel level last week, trading in a range of US$69-75 per barrel during the week, with light sweet crude oil closing at US$69.62 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange last Friday. Eastern hemisphere base oil prices showed little change, with a slight downward bias, with the most significant decreases being heavy Solvent Neutral and 150 Bright Stock ex-Saudi Arabia.
