Transport Topics has just issued its '2009 Transport Topics 100' lists of the 100 largest for-hire trucking fleets (companies such as UPS, FedEx, DHL Americas, YRC Worldwide and Ryder Systems) and the 100 largest private trucking fleets (companies such as Coca-Cola Enterprises, Sysco Systems, Wal-Mart, USFoodservice and Pepsi Bottling). In total, the number of motorized vehicles represents an enormous figure, as well as the amount of lubes consumed.

Oronite OLOA® 22009 Meets NMMA FC-W Catalyst Compatible Spec; NMMA FC-W (CAT) Oil Certification Program to be Rolled Out September 1
Chevron Oronite recently confirmed that the OLOA® 22009 additive for 4-stroke water-cooled engines meets the upcoming NMMA FC-W Catalyst Compatible specification. Meanwhile, NMMA has advised OEM/Lube News that its FC-W Catalyst Compatible Oil Certification Program will be rolled out September 1, 2009 and that approved lubricants will then be added to the FC-W(CAT) approval list shortly afterwards as they are approved.

Petro-Canada Announces Lube Price Increase
Petro-Canada has announced in a letter to its marketers that "Based on changing market conditions, the book and area-wide pricing for Petro-Canada Lubricants, Fluids, and Greases will increase 36 cents per gallon and 5 cents per pound for all shipments on or after August 31, 2009 in all package sizes and warehouses. This increase does not include Purity FG White Oils or Process Oils as they increased on August 3, 2009."

Valero's Bill Klesse Elected NPRA Chairman
The Board of Directors of NPRA has elected Bill Klesse, Valero Energy’s CEO, President and Chairman of the Board, as Chairman of the association. Bill Finnerty, Executive VP and COO of Tesoro Corporation, will serve as the association’s Vice Chairman and Richard Meeks, Senior VP Refining of Lion Oil Company, has been elected NPRA’s Treasurer.
