Acheson Colloids to Close Port Huron Plant End of 2010
Acheson Colloids has announced that its Port Huron plant will close at the end of 2010. The plant, owned by Henkel, is closing because of out-dated graphite production technology and a decrease in production needs, a Henkel spokeswoman told OEM/Lube News.

Mobil 1 Selected as Factory- and Service-Fill Motor Oil for the "New" 2010 Chevy Camaro
ExxonMobil last Monday announced that Mobil 1 motor oil has been selected as the factory- and service-fill endorsed motor oil for the new 2010 Chevy Camaro SS. The Chevy Camaro had not been produced since the announcement of the discontinuation of the Camaro line in 2002, after 36 years of production when the 1967 model started rolling off the assembly line and into dealerships in late 1966.

Calumet Sinks to 2Q Loss
Calumet Specialty Products Partners L.P. last Wednesday reported a loss of $26 million in the second quarter compared to a profit of $41.8 million in the second quarter a year ago. Calumet’s quarterly sales fell 33 percent from the year-ago period, from $671.2 million to $444 million.

Fuchs Petrolub 1H 2009 Profit Falls
Last Thursday Fuchs Petrolub AG reported half year financial results for 2009. Profit after tax was EUR 43.1 (US$ 61.8) million for the first six months, down from EUR 65.1 million for the first six months of last year. Like most oil companies, the FUCHS PETROLUB Group was impacted by the significant drop in global demand for lubricants in the first half of 2009.

Shell Lubricants Names Hepher as New B2B GM
Shell Lubricants North America announced last Tuesday that it has named Andrew Hepher as General Manager Business-to-Business (B2B), with an effective start date of October 1, 2009. Hepher joins the lubricants marketer from Shell Energy Europe, where he is serving as vice president, Strategy & Portfolio.
