When we contacted Eric Johnson, GMPT-NA Fuels & Lubes, GM, Milford, MI, regarding the lack in the GM listing of other oil companies, who advised us several weeks ago that they were introducing a fully licensed dexos1™ oil, he told OEM/Lube News "The Center for Quality Assurance controls the website and tries to update it on a routine basis.  Of the companies you listed, some are now licensed and some are in process. As policy, until GM signs the license agreement the companies will not be listed."

"An updated list of the fully licensed companies are: ExxonMobil, Shell, Allegheny Petroleum, Smitty's Supply, Motul, Wolf, Petrol Ofisi, and Cipelia Group" said Johnson.

OEM/Lube News contacted these aforementioned companies not on the GM dexos™ licensed list that during the past several weeks announced they intend to market a fully licensed dexos™ product and were advised by each of them as shown below.

Garry Rooney, Senior Vice President, Special Projects and Business Opportunity Development, CAM2 International, LLC, told OEM/Lube News “CAM2 has submitted to General Motors CAM2’s dexos™ candidate oil and General Motors has completed their testing and notified CAM2 that CAM2’s product has passed all the required dexos™ testing.”  We are now awaiting the completion of the paperwork containing our formal license number.”

Greg Julian, President, Advanced Lubrication Specialties told OEM/Lube News "We just submitted our sample for the dexos™ approval last week so we have not received our license from GM yet.  Our plan is to have our dexos™ licensed product to the market by December, 2010.  Since the beginning of October we have been offering our  API licensed SN and ILSAC GF-5 oils".

Chris Spell, Corporate Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Warren Oil Company told OEM/Lube News "The final paperwork was submitted to GM a couple of weeks ago, everything is in place, and we are awaiting our official notice from GM of our Coastal dexos1™ 5W30".

Kent Morris, President, Pinnacle Oil, Inc., told OEM/Lube News “Pinnacle will be sending to GM our sample for dexos1™ testing within the next week.  We do not anticipate any issues with the testing and licensing process, and plan on being able to offer our customers fully licensed dexos1™ product by December, 2010.”
