The Fijian Smile
Loloma's Dental Team hits the Road
by Linda Kwasny

Loloma Dentists on Beqa These beautiful smiles are often compromised with gaping holes where a tooth once lived. Or, unchecked decay slowly erodes the vitality of a tooth, causing pain from infection.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were finally able to purchase one of the big items on our wish list. We are now the proud owners of a portable dental unit and patient chair.

by Linda Kwasny

Team is ecstatic to see the end of Day1 Our volunteer team consisting of Matt Caley, David McCullough, Megan Hendricks, Dr. Lance Hendricks and Linda Kwasny arrived into Suva on the 13th of January from Los Angeles.

After dealing with customs formalities, we began unpacking the two 40 ft. containers sent from Direct Relief International and the one 20 ft. container shipped by the Loloma Foundation. All medical equipment and most all of the supplies from DRI were redirected to CWM Hospital in Suva. These supplies will be split among seven major hospitals throughout the country.

Subject: Fijian-Texan looking to help!

My name is Leslie McDowell, and I was just reading about Loloma. I would like to get involved, particularly with fund raising and acquisition of supplies. Also, I have a background as a newspaper reporter, if you think attracting attention via a feature article might lure additional public support?
