Terminal Fate for Shell Refinery
Shell on Thursday said it will convert its 130,000 barrels per day Montreal East refinery to a terminal to receive gasoline, diesel and aviation fuels, to be distributed via its nearby Montreal terminal. The refinery includes a base oil plant with 2,700 barrels per day API Group I capacity.

WD-40 on Monday reported $9.4 million net income for its first quarter ending Nov. 30, up 22 percent compared to the year-ago period, on net sales of $78 million, down 7 percent.

Butcher was appointed president and chief operating officer of Cincinnati, Ohio-based Pilot Chemical, after 29 years with Dow ChemicalAlbemarle of Baton Rouge, La., last week announced start-up of a new unit with 15,000 metric tons per year capacity to produce polyalphaolefins for ExxonMobil Chemical… Dusseldorf, Germany’s specialty chemicals supplier Cognis opened an affiliate in Selangor, Malaysia on Jan. 1.
 
U.S. Base Oil Price Report
Pointing to a continued build in operating costs, a slew of U.S. paraffinic base oil producers stepped out with price hike announcements, ranging from 5 cents to 35 cents per gallon.
