Sunset for API CF, CF-2 Oils
The American Petroleum Institute has moved to drop two of its classic heavy-duty engine oil categories, API CF and API CF-2. API CF-2 licenses will be honored until Feb. 1, after which the category will be declared obsolete. Any API CF licenses will expire on or before the end of 2010, when it too will die.

Rerefinery Favors Diesel Fuel
HD-Petroleum plans to launch a Canadian $1.4 million (U.S. $1.3 million) rerefinery in Montcalm, Manitoba, next June that processes used motor oil to produce 1.2 million liters annually of low sulphur diesel fuel.
