Quaker Chemical said in an SEC filing that Jan Nieman, vice president and managing director, Asia/Pacific, will become vice president and global leader for grease, fluid power and mining effective Aug. 1.  Ali and Sons – importers of Porsche, Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda vehicles in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. – reached agreement with EMA Lubricants, a joint venture between ExxonMobil and Gibca Group, to use Mobil-branded lubricants.  The former Steel Shipping Container Institute is now the Industrial Steel Drum Institute, with a new website at www.whysteeldrums.org.
U.S. Base Oil Price Report
Conditions in the U.S. base oils market were largely unchanged from a week ago, with no posted price initiatives noted. Demand for heavier cuts continued to dominate, while requirements for the lighter grades was healthy but not buoyant, sellers conceded.
