Why Lexus Recommends Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee
It’s one of the most highly acclaimed small luxury hotels in the country.

Situated on a pastoral 4,200-acre estate in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Blackberry Farm is easy to get to and hard to leave. In fact, it is a distinctly Lexus kind of place, so much so that Blackberry Farm has declared Lexus to be the preferred vehicle at the farm resort. Don’t forget to ask for your Lexus $100 credit when you make reservations!

A woman from Chicago, Mrs. Florida Lasier, was visiting the area in 1940. As the story goes, she caught her nylon on a blackberry bush. Apparently, the land caught her attention because she settled and started what is no Blackberry Farm. The current owners, the Bealls, bought the property in 1976 and created the intimate luxury hotel you see today.

Winter at Blackberry Farm is truly a memorable time. The rustic tones of autumn are slowly replaced by picturesque vistas as far as the eye can see, and the stillness in the air inspires reflection and relaxation. Go for a brisk morning walk or a healthy bike ride. Sit by the fire with a cup of cider or hot chocolate.

Spring graces Blackberry Farm with a most welcome visit after a bracing mountain winter. You’ll find the vegetable and flower gardens budding with promise, the orchards in flower and the honeybees collecting pollen. The changing climate brings warm days, cool evenings and an undeniable energy in the air. A Blackberry Spring is about renewal at every level.

Driving to Blackberry Farm is, in itself, a restorative road trip. After all, you are heading into the foothills of the Smokies, some of America’s most beautiful country. If you are driving, you’ll be taking Interstate 40 from the east or west, I-75 from the south, or I-75 or I-81 from the north. Blackberry Farm is only 18 miles from Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport. By Interstate or by air, you’ll be looking for Highway 321 toward Townsend and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Where the four-lane road becomes two lanes, take an immediate right turn onto West Millers Cove Road. Be aware there is only a small green street sign and no identification of Blackberry Farm. It’s to protect the privacy of guests. Continue 3.5 miles to the beginning of white rail fencing on your left. Continue past two gated entrances until you see the sign for Blackberry Farm, turning left into the driveway. You’ll be warmly greeted at the covered entrance to the Oak Cottage.

Blackberry Farm offers 63 guest accommodations including Estate Rooms, Cottage Suites, Hill Cottages and houses, all beautifully appointed and furnished with fine antiques. Personal service and attention to detail are the defining elements of Blackberry Farm's award-winning reputation.

Lexus and Blackberry Farm share a commitment to the environment. Just as Lexus focuses on making luxurious automobiles offering hybrid technology that reduces pollution, Blackberry Farm pursues luxurious hospitality supported by a sustainable, ecologically friendly stewardship of the land. Farming provides the means to safeguard the natural beauty of the land and enables guests to experience it hands-on should they wish. Whether you join in or simply hang out, you will sample the produce gleaned from the land by the Blackberry farmstead team.
