Will you be the Fairmont’s First Couple? From January 18-21, 2009, The Fairmont Washington, D.C. will become home for the grand inaugural events that take the nation’s capitol by storm. If you and your special other manage to reserve this ultra-exclusive package, you’ll get the full presidential treatment.
The Fairmont Washington, D.C.'s Eco-Inaugural Experience during the 56th Presidential Inauguration may be the most exclusive experience short of becoming President and First Lady.
Accommodations for the Fairmont's First Couple will be a luxurious two-bedroom Lexus Hybrid Living Suite located on the Fairmont Gold Floor. Kelly LaPlante of LA's Kelly LaPlante Organic Interior Design is responsible for the room's Eco-chic design.
The Fairmont Washington, D.C. Eco-Inaugural experience includes four nights in the Lexus Hybrid Living Suite and the exclusive use of a Lexus LS 600h L hybrid luxury car with driver. That alone would be one awesome getaway. However, there’s more!
Before the inauguration, the Fairmont's First Couple will be elegantly pampered with complete spa treatments. The lady will don a beautiful gown designed by organic designer Linda Loudermilk. Following the ball, the Fairmont's First Couple will enjoy an organic midnight meal.
Additionally, The Fairmont Washington, D.C. will donate $2,000 to the National Geographic Society in honor of the Fairmont's First Couple. The National Geographic Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is "Inspiring people to care about the planet."
The Lexus Hybrid Living Suite is uniquely designed. "I was inspired by a photograph of a room designed by Dorothy Draper in the 1940s," said LaPlante. "The photo was so rich in detail that I thought the room was in shades of black, white and grey before realizing that it was in fact a black and white image of a colorful room. I decided to use the picture as inspiration and create a room where guests were given the feeling of walking into a black and white photograph. It was an interesting coincidence to learn that Dorothy's designs had graced The Fairmont San Francisco in an earlier era."
Lexus first partnered with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts for the Lexus Hybrid Living Suites at The Fairmont San Francisco in April 2008.
These suites are designed for the eco-minded travelers. During their stay, guests will have the complimentary use of a Lexus LS 600h hybrid vehicle.
"Lexus has long been the leader in luxury hybrid vehicles, but we have extended our commitment to the sustainable lifestyle through Lexus Hybrid Living. It showcases people and products dedicated to minimizing their impact on the earth without sacrificing style and comfort," said Dave Nordstrom, Lexus Vice President of Marketing. "Our partnership with Fairmont helps Lexus bring that thought process to life with amazing eco-luxury suites in both San Francisco and Washington, D.C."
"Fairmont has truly been a pioneer in the responsible tourism arena, and it's now part of our DNA," said Jeff Senior, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. "Not only do we implement programs to reduce, reuse and recycle, but we look to be better neighbors in our communities through local initiatives. Partnerships with like-minded companies such as Lexus allow us to not only practice responsible operations, but offer our guests stylish and sustainable experiences unique to our brand."
