It wasn't that long ago when the LewerMark team in the home office consisted of just a few, select individuals. In recent years, the team continues to expand at a steady pace, now employing more individuals than any other department in the company.
The Lewer Agency recently expanded its customer service team, again, after hiring three more customer service representatives and a new account manager. As the company's student insurance programs continue to be utilized on a growing number of campuses across the country, the expansion of the LewerMark customer support team in the home office ensures the continuation of the prompt and personalized service The Lewer Agency's clients have come to expect and value from the LewerMark team.
In October, Melissa Evans assumed the position of LewerMark account manager and assistant to LewerMark director, Jeff Crawford. Melissa began her Lewer career as a receptionist this summer and was quickly promoted to a customer service position in July, where her professional skills would better serve Lewer clients. Upon being hired, Melissa commented that job growth potential was her number one reason for working at Lewer. "I was working at an eye doctor's office," she said. "I felt like Lewer was a well-established company and that I could possibly advance in the near future. I am very much looking forward to working with Jeff Crawford and the LewerMark team."
Married eleven years to husband Matt, Melissa has two children. She describes herself as an “open book” and enjoys sewing and scrapbooking in her free time as well as cooking pasta for her Italian family. She was born in Kansas City and raised in Independence, Missouri, where she graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1995. She now lives in Raytown, Missouri.
“This job is different from any job that I have ever had because of the friendly atmosphere," she said. "I know I have only been here for a very short period of time, but I can already tell that this company employs really good people. I like to be busy, and I really like my new job. I have many more responsibilities now."
The second addition on the LewerMark team is Abby Smith, a new claims auditor on staff, as of July 14, 2008.
Abby began her Lewer career in 2005, and worked as a customer sevice representative in The Lewer Agency's Group department before her transfer to the LewerMark department, where she is now enjoying serving LewerMark clients as a claims auditor. "I was working for a large, impersonal company, and I wanted to work for a smaller, family-owned company that actually cares about employees," she said. "I am also excited about working with some of The Lewer Agency's larger schools."
Abby was born in California, Missouri and currently lives in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She has two children, Miranda, age 13, and Grant, age 7. She attended Central Missouri State University, now University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Missouri. "I know it's not called CMSU anymore," she says, "but it's still CMSU to me!"
The third new LewerMark team member is Christine Manning, who transferred from The Lewer Agency's
