The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Has Affordable Performance
Combining good looks and impressive drivability.

Meet the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. It may share its name with the Genesis sedan, but that’s where the similarities end. This is a performance-oriented vehicle – built for the open road and ready to handle it when tossed into the twisties. Are you ready to go?

The 2010 Genesis Coupe was engineered to impress with its road-hugging performance chassis and suspension, all powered by rear-wheel drive. It’s available in six trims: 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 2.0T Track, 3.8, 3.8 Grand Touring and 3.8 Track. The 2.0 trims are powered by a turbocharged 16-valve 2.0-liter inline four with dual variable valve timing (D-VVT) that develops 210 hp and 223 lb/ft of torque. The 3.8 models feature a 3.8-liter 24-valve DOHC naturally-aspirated V6 that churns out 306 hp and 266 lb/ft of torque. Both are paired with a six-speed manual transmission. In the 2.0 trims, a five-speed automatic with paddleshift SHIFTRONIC® is optional. EPA fuel estimates for the manual-shift 2.0T are 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway while the manual-shift 3.8 gets an estimated 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

In testing by Edmunds.com, the 3.8 Track registered an impressive 5.9 seconds to go zero-to-60 mph. The reviewers at Edmunds.com also praised the Genesis Coupe, noting its “body control in quick transitions is excellent, steering feel and responsiveness are all-time Hyundai bests, and the sophisticated ride quality won’t beat you up over broken pavement.”

The Genesis Coupe’s exterior is sporty and attractive – perhaps even the best-looking Hyundai. The good looks continue inside the cabin with high quality materials and excellent fit and finish. In fact, the Genesis can put many luxury-named vehicles to shame with the level of luxury and eye-catching features it offers. From the leather-wrapped dashboard and steering wheel to the heated and cooled front seats, Hyundai paid great attention to detail. Trunk space is 10 cubic feet, certainly enough for those getaway weekends.

The 2.0T comes standard with keyless entry, air conditioning, a trip computer, Bluetooth connectivity and full power accessories. The 2.0T Premium adds an Infinity premium AM/FM/CD/XM audio system, sunroof, keyless ignition, a power driver’s seat and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The 2.0T Track adds a rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, red cloth seat inserts, aluminum pedals and Brembo brakes.

The 3.8 includes the 2.0T’s standard equipment, as well as chrome front fascia accents, metal doorsill plates, foglights, black leather upholstery and automatic climate control. The 3.8 Grand Touring adds a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 10-speaker premium Infinity audio system, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals and parking sensors. The 3.8 Track features the same equipment as the Grand Touring and adds the 2.0T Track’s performance-related equipment.

Standard safety features include dual advanced front airbags, front side airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), four-wheel antilock brakes, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), brake assist and an energy-absorbing steering column.

The 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0T has a starting MSRP of $22,000.

Get ready to go in style.
