Autoweek Adds to Range Rover Evoque's Trophy Case
Compact SUV Named 'Best of the Best' Truck for 2012
It takes a special vehicle to stick out from the wide range of new cars and trucks released every year, and few made as big an impression in 2011 as the 2012 Range Rover Evoque. Arriving at Land Rover dealers last September, the compact utility vehicle has been the focus of dozens of awards, most recently taking home the title of Autoweek Magazine's "Best of the Best" Truck for 2012. The Evoque was also chosen as the 2012 Motor Trend SUV of the Year in December and the Top Gear 2011 Car of the Year in November.
Only all-new or substantially updated vehicles were eligible to contend for Autoweek's "Best of the Best" awards, which are given out to one car and one truck annually. Contenders were graded on drivetrain, ride quality, handling, exterior, interior design and fun factor in a process that began in January 2011. The 2012 Audi A7 was chosen as the winner in the car category, and both it and the Evoque will be honored at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show that beings January 9th.

Land Rover Conservation and Humanitarian Partnerships
Working Partnerships for Conservation and Society's Gain
For over 60 years, Land Rover has worked with Conservation and Humanitarian organizations around the world. They have five global partners that represent a range of activities, from spanning scientific research to preserving cultural heritage. Each month, we will be spotlighting a different partnership.
THE ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY (From landrover.com)
The Royal Geographical Society with IBG (RGS-IBG) is Land Rover's longest standing Global Sponsorship Partner, dating back over 30 years, to enable scientific expeditions for research and exploration.
The Royal Geographical Society (RGS) with the Institute of British Geographers supports teaching geographical learning and the education of people of all ages for life as local and global citizens in a rapidly changing world. It does this through a program of research about our world environments and societies. As part of Land Rover's 'Fragile Earth' environmental sponsorship program, Land Rover provides funding for Geography Outdoors: a center supporting field research, exploration and outdoor learning and driver training courses--provided by the Land Rover Experience. Land Rover also supports the Society's annual November seminar where some 250 expedition planners gather to find inspiration, seek advice and learn about best practice. Land Rover funds new expeditions through the Go Beyond bursary.
