CHP's Start Smart program returns to Lakewood
Tuesday June 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol's free Start Smart driver safety program for teen drivers will be held twice at the Sheriff’s Community Safety Center in the mall. The next class is on Tuesday June 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Click for the eCatalog signups.

The driver safety class is designed to help new and future licensed teenage drivers between the age of 15 -19 and their parents/guardians. Enroll by calling the Recreation and Community Services Department at 562-866-9771, extension 2408.

The primary objective of Start Smart is to provide teens with an interactive safe driving awareness class, which will illustrate how poor choices behind the wheel can affect the lives of numerous people.

Due to some of the graphic pictures and videos shown during the class, each teenager under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and they must sign a waiver form at the beginning of the class.

The program will be held at the Sheriff's Community Safety Center, 15 Lakewood Center mall (Target wing).
