TAP Pharmaceuticals: The Wall of Fame

Peer recognition is important to CMR Institute students – formal and informal surveys of our students have shown that to be true. And while most acknowledge the need, it is often difficult for companies to find ways to recognize their CMR Institute graduates.

Walk down a very visible hallway at TAP Pharmaceuticals, however, and you’ll find a creative solution to the opportunity. TAP’s Wall of Fame, along the main entrance into training, holds three large wooden plaques which list every TAP Pharmaceutical graduate’s name on a brass plate. The plaques are alongside their showcase of awards and a picture of TAP’s first sales force.

Then TAP University leaders, Joe Jansen and Scott Babjak developed the idea in 2004. Kristen Krebs, Manager, Learning Design & Advancement, TAP University and Kurt Hendrickson, Program Manager, TAP University, continue to update and promote this recognition opportunity within TAP Pharmaceuticals today. Scott is now a District Manager and Joe is the Manager of Training Strategy. The Wall of Fame has been in place now for about a year.

“Graduation from the CMR program is considered a significant achievement at TAP.  The CMR Certification program provides increased credibility and an opportunity for professional development and advancement,” says Joe Jansen. “In order to celebrate this accomplishment, we created the CMR Wall of Fame. The Wall of Fame is in place to recognize CMR graduates and to inspire new reps to take on this great opportunity."

In addition to their Wall of Fame, TAP also promotes the recognition of their graduates formally each year at their national sales meeting. In each region, graduates are announced and congratulated individually by the leadership in their area. Caps and gowns have been seen at these meetings, and strains of Pomp and Circumstance are not unusual.

Leaders in every industry who value their employees, their accomplishments and their daily impact on the business, struggle with how to recognize those employees who go above and beyond to achieve or exceed the goals set before them. CMR Institute salutes TAP Pharmaceuticals for finding creative and fun ways to celebrate success!
