Carl Vogel, CMR: GlaxoSmithKline- Retired, Class of 1988
Carl Vogel is proud to
have “carried the bag for 55 years”.
Starting out in 1950 with Lakeside Laboratories in sales, he moved on to
become a District Manager with Lakeside for 16 years. Merrell-Dow purchased Lakeside, and Vogel worked for Merrell-Dow
until he retired eleven years ago. Two
months after retiring, he went back to work with GlaxoSmithKline and retired
again just this year.
“Fifty golden years of
service to our industry is an incredible record, one we are unlikely to see
paralleled in the future. Carl has enriched many lives over the past 5 decades
and I’m just one who considers it both an honor and privilege to have worked
with him and call him a true friend,” said Tom Markey, Vice President, Medical
Marketing and Sales, SmithKline Beecham in a congratulatory letter to Vogel.
During his career in
pharmaceuticals, Vogel was chosen “Drug Representative of the Month” for June,
2002 by one of his physicians Alan Pearlman, M.D., P.A. The decision was based
on his “outstanding job detailing his products…as well as by showing an
outstanding understanding of our patients and their often multiple complex
disease processes,” wrote Allen Pearlman, M.D., P.A. in his recognition letter
to Vogel.
Vogel considers the CMR
Certification to be one of his greatest accomplishments, and feels that all
pharmaceutical companies should urge their representatives to enroll in the
program.
CMR Institute
congratulates Carl Vogel on a lifetime of accomplishments and successes in his
pharmaceutical career.
