Also meet Paolo Cristane, a VIETRI glass artisan from Italy. Watch as he creates glass plates and platters in store. He expresses his love of Italian culture thru decoupage. He arranges the hand-cut images on the bottom of highest-quality glass. Each one-of-a-kind piece is signed on the back by this passionate artist.

Village of Antioch's Fall Fest & Adventure Race
Saturday October 10, 2009
Times: Saturday: Adventure Race 10-1p.m. Fall Fest Noon-10:30pm
 
This Fall Fest Kick Off Event is a mental and physical skills challenge event. Get the family or friends together and compete in the 2nd Annual Adventure Race. Teams must be made up of at least 2 players and costs $10 per team. Starting at 12 noon kids games like the haystack hunt, coloring contest, moonwalk, and various other games will be availabe. Other events like the Weiner Races (Dog races), pumpkin roll, Beer Barrell Race, Beer Stein Race and Tug-of-war will take place leading up to the bands at 4 p.m. This years lineup features Bellevue Suite, Mellencougar, Churck-A-Roo, and Exit to Enter. Food and Beverage will be available all day.

Celebrate Halloween at the Garden! Take either the "friendly" or "spooky" path to activities in the Regenstein Center and McGinley Pavilion. View the Model Railroad Garden in ghostly lights and miniature splendor, running special ghost trains. Guests enjoy this garden at no cost during Hallowfest. Halloween-themed crafts, Bobby "Circus Boy" Hunt, Dave Rudolf (Sunday only), and Fred the Vampire will entertain with tricks, games, and contests. Dare to have your fortune told, or take a 15-minute trip on the Eerie Express. Friday and Saturday shows start at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows are at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Take a break from the action with tempting treats at the Spooky Snack Shack. Dress up in costume and bring a camera for photo ops with friendly and scary surroundings. Ghost Stories Plus at Volo Bog State Natural Area!

Going strong since 1986, Ghost Stories festivities now begin two hours before the tellings with Guided Tours of Volo Bog, a scary Haunted Trail to the Pines and a take-home Halloween Craft (bring a clean, label-free plastic milk jug). Then at 7 p.m., as listeners have done for decades, we'll gather under blankets in the dark, cold picnic area just over the hill from Volo Bog itself to hear scary tales of the spine-tingling and chilling sort. This year's storyteller is Dan Keding from Urbana, Illinois. Dan will keep listeners on the edges of their seats as he weaves his tales of terror! Actually, the first set of stories will be appropriate for folks of "all" ages - minimum age 5 please. Then, after intermission, the stories will become more complex and just a bit scarier. It's almost Halloween and Viking Park has many special visitors coming, including Dorothy and Toto, the Big Bad Wolf, Sulley, Winnie-the-Pooh and many more. Haunted Maze
