With the holidays fast approaching, and the economy as it is, many of you be looking for other ways to show how much you appreciate that someone special in your life. This month we return to my favorite genre- Military Fiction. Stephen Coonts is another one of my favorite authors. The majority of his books are centered on the character of Jake Grafton. Those of you that have read these novels have followed Jake’s career starting as a carrier pilot in Vietnam to his rise to an Admiral, navigating the power halls of the Pentagon and the White House. 

Despite extensive pre-production testing and dramatically improved quality of new cars and trucks these days, recalls are still very much a fact of life for motorists. Perhaps it's because vehicles have also become so much more complex, with more things to go wrong. In any case, each time a recall is announced, most owners probably raise an eyebrow and wonder what kind of a lemon they've gotten themselves into now. After all, the stuff of some recalls-engine fires, broken steering system components, wheels that fall off, air bags that could explode for no reason-can is pretty scary.

 

The truth is, they have little reason to worry. Like airline crashes or killer-bee attacks, recalls can create quite a sensation, especially when they involve best-selling vehicles. But the chances of anything unusual happening to your particular car or truck if it's recalled are pretty remote.

Sit, paw, down, McCabe already knows all that! Picked up as a stray, his microchip luckily tracked him back to us where he is now waiting for a new family. This handsome guy is just a total love. He walks well on leash, loves running around like a puppy, totally cute to watch, and happily jumps in and out of the baby pool.

Recently opened in the former Quizno Sub location, just north of Route 176 on Waukegan Road, Grill No.43 is definitely not a fast food restaurant. Lake Bluff has needed a new restaurant that is not your standard fare. We have many great pizza & fast food choices in town. Now we have a nice new slightly upscale location as well. Although the only opened last month, Grille No.43 seems to be an instant hit with the locals.
