With the Easter and Mother’s Day Holidays coming up, we thought we would review a Sunday Brunch. It seems that each of these days families gather and the inevitable happens, either one family member graciously spends days before and days after preparing the house and the food for the gathering, or everyone decides to take in a Sunday Brunch together. One of the nicest aspects of going the Brunch route is the ease of clean-up, none and the choices of food to choose from. When you think about it, how much time and money would you spend to have the variety of Breakfast Foods, Salads, Pastries, Main Course Entrees and Desserts on hand to feed a family gathering? The variety is the key to any Sunday Brunch, this past weekend my wife and I decided to attend the Sunday Brunch at Bertucci’s Italian Steakhouse in Highwood. While it was not the most elaborate design or layout I’ve ever encountered for a Brunch Buffet, what it did feature was a great variety of items to choose from.
Pricewise, Bertucci’s offers a great value for a Sunday Brunch at $14.95 per person ($8.95 for children under 10). These days it seems that you can almost spend that at a fast food restaurant. Without getting your fill of:
-
Prime Rib
-
Scrambled Eggs
-
Eggs Benedict
-
French Toast
-
Waffles
-
Lox & Bagels
-
Bacon
-
Sausage
-
Potatoes
-
Fish dishes
-
Pasta Dishes
-
Chicken Dishes
-
Salads
-
Breakfast pastries
-
A Sweet Table
-
And More Items
The variety included all the staples of a very nice Sunday Brunch. Of course I over-indulged myself in almost all of it, sampling a little of each. And the food was consistently very nice, plentiful, hot and full of flavors that we both enjoyed. Our service was superb, allowing us to linger between our trips to the buffet and always making sure we were enjoying ourselves. As I said earlier, other places may have a more elaborate set-up with ice sculptures and fancier buffet designs; the bottom line for me is always the value for the money spent. In this regards Bertucci’s deliveries above and beyond the expected. If you are looking for a nice restaurant to spend some time with the family on Mother’s day or just a Sunday Brunch for two, Bertucci’s for the past 15 years has been an excellent choice. Known primarily for their steaks, fish, pizza and pasta featuring; Mama Lena’s Tortellacci’s, they are also getting know for their “Early Bird Menu”- for $14.95 between 4:00 PM and 6:00PM, you can choose from a special menu an appetizer, soup or salad, and entrée and dessert. Proving once again, that Bertucci’s is a great value in the area.
Every night Bertucci’s offers a different featured menu item;
Monday’s Dover Sole @ $19.95 or Meatloaf @$15.95
Tuesday’s Prime Rib @ $11.95
Wednesday’s Full Slab of BBQ Ribs @ $11.95
Thursday’s Triple Filet Mignon @ $19.95
Weekends finds live entertainment in the lounge with a variety of acts from music from the rat Pack to Rock ‘n’ Roll from the 60’s to Comedy nights and even an Auction Night coming up on the 21st of April, where you can auction of your treasures. I can only imagine some of the “Treasures” that get auctioned off on these nights; it might be fun just to go watch what everyone else considers their treasure. Bertucci’s Italian Steakhouse is definitely a restaurant worth visiting.
During the later parts of spring, summer and fall Bertucci’s opens up the patio for lunches and dinners.
