Porsche 911 Targa 4 Challenges You to a Dual
Dual driveshafts, dual clutches, dual shifters, dual roofs.

The 2009 Porsche 911 4 Targa offers a double-dip of driving pleasure. There’s the Targa-style roof, for instance. Glass is a gas and nothing is better than something. You get two driveshafts and four wheels churning for traction. You can double down even further by ordering the Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, (PDK for short), which refers to the astounding dual clutch, dual-shifting transmission option.

2009 Porsche Boxster Offers Doppelkupplungsgetriebe
It’s a race-bred, twin-clutch transmission, referred to as PDK, even by Germans!

As one automotive writer observed, there are fewer visible changes to the new Boxster than there are syllables in Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. However, as we Porsche fanatics know, it’s what’s inside that counts. Under the 2009 Boxster’s hood lies one of two new boxer engines. There’s the base 2.9-liter, direct injection flat six with 255 horses and a 3.4-liter with direct fuel injection that’s good for 310 ponies in the new Boxster S. Perhaps the most interesting news is the availability of the Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) twin clutch automatic transmission that made its production debut in the 2009 911 series. Before that, only serious racecars had this technology. The PDK provides better fuel economy (26 mpg plus) and quicker acceleration than the six-speed manual. A new, limited-slip differential provides better traction and stability during performance driving.

Why “Trading-In” Makes Sense
It’s the no-hassle route to your new car.

We all know the term “trade-in.” We all wonder if trading-in is the good deal it seems to be. The best way to figure that out is to understand the trade-in process and how to prepare your car for the best possible trade-in value.

Go Wild at the Dinner Table
Are you game for something different tonight?

No, it doesn’t taste like chicken! The fact is wild game has a range of flavors that relatively few of us have had the chance to savor. We settle for what’s in the supermarket meat display and never give alternatives a thought. In case you are wondering, you don’t have to be a hunter to enjoy wild game. Got game? Read on!

Winter Got You Down? It’s Time to Rally
Join a rally club and see how you respond to TSD!

TSD stands for “Time, Speed and Distance,” the primary elements in most car rally events. Forget those images of cars flying over a rise, all four wheels in the air! Those are professional events with cars prepared for the most rugged form of racing in the world. If you can follow instructions and operate a stopwatch, you will get a charge out of running a rally.

Air Is a Drag
That’s why car manufacturers pay so much attention to aerodynamics.

The way your vehicle moves through the air has a surprisingly large effect on its fuel efficiency. That’s because any air that fails to move off the vehicle’s surface must be pushed away, and that takes energy.
