April 14: Family Farm Day, Historic Latta Plantation, 10AM Bring the family out for a fun day on the farm! Meet the farm animals and enjoy numerous animal presentations throughout the day, make a craft, explore the plantation, and learn about honeybees. Children can visit the Farm Chores area and milk the cow, gather eggs, try the water bucket relay, and more! Free with regular site admission.
April 21: Earth Day Celebration, Robbins Park, 11AM Celebration goers will participate in "green" activities including arts & crafts, demos, nature walk, recycling, face painting and more! It is free and open to the public. Plus, go home with a meal-worm starter kits for children to learn about the life-cycle of the meal worm and to raise their own worms to feed backyard birds.
April 21: Bark For Life, Birkdale Village, 6PM The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. Bring your best canine friend and join us for a fun-filled day starting with a walk, and then continuing with demonstrations, contests, and games.
April 21-22: Scottish Festival & Loch Norman Highland Games, Rural Hill, All Day The Rural Hill Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games is a family oriented event presented by Historic Rural Hill that offers something for everyone, Scottish or not!Children's games, live traditional and celtic rock, over 30 Scottish clans, piping and drumming, highland dancing and much more!
April 23: Latta Plantation Open Golf Tournament, The Point, Mooresville Support Latta Plantation as you enjoy a day of golf at The Point! Golf Tournament will be held at the Point Lake and Golf Club in Mooresville, NC and all proceeds will benefit Latta Place, Inc! Foursomes and Sponsorships are available.
April 28: Bark in the Park, Rural Hill, 10AM The day will be filled with dog demonstrations, vendors selling dog merchandise, and contests. The contests include best trick, pet/owner look-a-like, best bark, biggest dog, smallest dog, canine Frisbee and throw and catch.
April 28: Kids Triathlon Series Race, Huntersville Family Fitness Aquatics, 5PM The Kids Triathlon Series was created to encourage youth to have fun staying active. By focusing on swim, bike & run, our hope is that participants will build lifelong healthy habits of setting goals for physical achievement. This will be the first of the 4 races this year, join today!
April 29: Huntersville Sprint, Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics, 8AM Perfect for beginners and a great tune up for the White Lake Sprints in May, this Sprint features a mild to moderate course ideal for training, relay teams, & improving average time.
