It’s unsurprising, therefore, that Consumer Guide editors awarded the Hyundai Sonata, Tucson and all-new Accent “Best Buy” awards in the ”Midsize Car,” “Compact Crossover/SUV” and “Subcompact Car” categories, respectively. In addition, the Genesis and Elantra earned “Recommended” ratings in the “Large Car” and “Compact Car” categories.

 

A “Best Buy” rating means that a vehicle is ranked at the top of its class and has earned the approval of editors. These vehicles have innovative features, good value and are “the best choices for most consumers” when compared to competitors in their respective classes.

 

“Recommended” vehicles are worth strong consumer consideration thanks to their impressive attributes and value. Hyundai has earned more than 30 Consumer Guide “Recommended” or “Best Buy” ratings in the past nine years.

 

To determine ratings, a team of experts at Consumer Guide evaluates the price, features and performance of hundreds of vehicles in 18 class segments. Scoring takes into account the overall value of a car to ascertain which vehicles have the best attributes in their classes.
