The Coupe Creator app, starring the 2012 Hyundai Genesis, allows Facebook users to design their own custom coupes in an effort to defeat conformity. Visitors can also take the Hyundai Highway Personality Test, an interactive quiz and driving experience that determines the car that best matches their personal preferences.
The “Uncensored” campaign for the 2011 Sonata allowed users to upload videos that provided honest accounts of their car shopping experiences to the Facebook page.
Users can upload their best “fan photos” and provide their personal remarks using the “My Hyundai. My Story.” link. To date, the Facebook page has received more than 250,000 “likes.”
Fans can check out commercials or see their favorite Hyundai models in action at the Hyundai YouTube page – www.youtube.com/HyundaiUSA. The “Community” section of the page gives owners a chance to upload videos that share their own thoughts about their specific vehicles. This section also features videos from the “Sell me a Hyundai” video contest, which asked owners to create their own personalized commercials. The Community page also includes reviews and user-uploaded photos of memorable places and trips.
The “Inside Hyundai” section keeps visitors up to date on the latest events, reviews, news and interviews including the success of the Hyundai motorsports program. The Hyundai YouTube page offers close to 300 videos that have received almost three million views. There are more than 17,500 subscribers to the page.
Along with Facebook and YouTube, Hyundai also shares information via Twitter (@Hyundai). Fans can subscribe to tweets issued by PR gurus Chris Hosford, Jim Trainor and Rob Lescaille, plus marketing maven Jon Budd and CEO John Krafcik. Tweets and photos are shared with more than 21,600 followers.
