Project S.A.R.A.H. of Jewish Family and Children's Service of Greater Mercer County, in partnership with JWI's Princeton Chapter and other local Jewish organizations, is sponsoring "An Evening to End Abuse" on Monday, October 18 from 7:30-9:30 PM at Congregation Adath Israel, 1958 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrence, NJ.
Elaine Weiss, Ed.D, author of "Surviving Domestic Violence: Voices of Women Who Broke Free," will be the keynote speaker. Her presentation will be followed by a response panel including:
Rabbi Mark Dratch, spiritual leader of Congregation Agudath Sholom, an Orthodox shul in Stamford, CT. Rabbi Dratch has been a long-standing member of the Jewish Advisory Board of Faith Trust Institute (formerly the Center for Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence).
Stacy Geurds, Esq., assistant prosecutor and Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit of the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, educates the community about Domestic Violence and speaks to young people about dating violence. Ms. Geurds was named Prosecutor of the Year 2004 by the Mercer County Office of Victim Witness Advocacy.
Andrea Gaynor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Jewish Family and Children's Service, has expertise in the area of domestic violence.
