Summer has been a busy time for Project S.A.R.A.H.'s "cross training" objectives; educating the community about domestic abuse in the Jewish community.
In May, staff from five New Jersey shelters participated in an in-service training sponsored by the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women and delivered by Project S.A.R.A.H. staff on working with Jewish victims.
A Project S.A.R.A.H. coordinator also facilitated a day of training for the Bergen County Court system on working with Jewish victims.
July 22 is the annual training day for Mikvah attendants and plans are already underway for a Rabbinic training scheduled for October.
In August, National Council for Jewish Women, Concordia Section, is featuring a dramatic presentation by their own membership on abuse, with a Project S.A.R.A.H. staff person acting as a therapist.
All these efforts are part of the S.A.R.A.H. commitment to helping insure that the safety net for Jewish victims continues to grow.
