San Francisco's LGBT Pride Parade: Sunday, June 28

You are invited, along with your family, your congregation, your community groups and friends to join the "Jews March for Pride" contingent of the San Francisco's LGBT Pride Parade, Sunday, June 28, 2009.

San Francisco's Annual Pride Celebration & Parade is the largest gathering of its kind in the nation.  This year the overarching theme is, "In Order to Form a More Perfect Union," drawn from the Preamble of the Constitution and inspired by the 2008 California Supreme Court decision on marriage.  The Jews March for Pride contingent will meet on Sunday, June 28 beginning at 9 am at the Beale Street Bar & Grill (133 Beale Street at Mission) generously donated by the Eckstein Family.  A free bagels-and fruit breakfast will be provided along with juice and coffee.  You will have the opportunity to decorate your own kippah, use the restroom & relax together as a Jewish community before the parade starts outside the Beale Street Bar & Grill at 10:30 am.  Please use public transit; parking in the city will be highly difficult, if not impossible.

Inspired by our core Jewish value that every human being is created b'tzelem elohim, in the image of God, the Jewish Pride contingent will feature the overarching message: we are the Jewish community; we are diverse; we overwhelmingly support marriage equality.

You can register to attend the breakfast and march in the parade (or, if you have limited mobility, sign-up to ride in our Jewishly-decorated trolley) at http://tinyurl.com/Jews4Pride.
