Maryland Jewish Alliance
2005 General Assembly Session in Review
The 2005 General Assembly session was a successful one for Maryland’s Jewish community. We achieved protection against insurance discrimination for travelers to Israel and other foreign countries. We saw the passage of a measure to enhance Holocaust and genocide education in Maryland. Our community also supported a major increase in school construction funding, and advocated for grants to help our agencies serve more people in need in our community and throughout the state.

Sukkot in April
Muslims and Jews build together
The JCRC of Greater Washington and the Montgomery County Muslim Council co-sponsored a Sukkot in April house on Sunday, April 17. Together a team of 25-30 people came together to help clean, repair, and paint the outside of a house belonging to a low-income disabled couple in Sandy Spring, Maryland.
