With more than 30,000 Yoshino Cherry trees and hundreds of events and attractions, it’s that time of the year for the amazing display of springtime beauty in Macon at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Each day, there are a variety of events – from concerts and live entertainment to fashion shows and tours – and plenty of food to sample. You’ll find something for you and your family to enjoy! It’s time to experience one of the South’s favorite beer festivals! On Sunday, April 5, the 14th annual Classic City Brew Festival will take place in Athens. Sample and learn about more than 175 of the world’s greatest beers that will be offered at the event. You’ll also enjoy live music, non-alcoholic drinks and delicious food courtesy of the Athens Steam Company Pub. Performing at the event is Pipapelli who plays rocking blues with a Celtic twist––anything and everything from the Blues Brothers to Led Zeppelin, all with highland bagpipes! The Festival will take place at Foundry Park Inn, located at 295 East Dougherty Street in downtown Athens. This event is for adults 21 and older. Children under 10 are allowed to attend with parents. Cycling and celebrating? Sounds good to us! The 30th Annual Athens Twilight is a professional cycling event and festival that’s fun for the whole family and of course, cyclists. The University of Georgia School of Music will be hosting the Jazz Festival in downtown Athens, and the Computrainer Grid Qualifiers will get you up close and personal with some of your favorite riders as they battle it out for the coveted starting places in America’s best criterium. Other happenings include an expo, twilight VIP dinner, races, 5K run/walk and parade. The younger kids can take part in the Big Wheel and Tricycle Races (ages five and younger) or in the Twilight Kids Criterium Races (ages five through 14).
